What Were You Doing 4 Years Ago?

I was kissing this guy.  Yes, this was before we exchanged vows...we're sneaky like that.  Anyhoo, so many memories of that beautiful day.  We'll be renewing our vows in about 6 years, so consider this a "save the date."  Ha!

Love you, baby!

Howdy, Cowboy

I love Nate's new cowboy pants.  Look at that fringe on the side...ahh, I love it.  The pants came with a cute red top but it was too warm to wear long sleeves today.  I got the outfit at the most amazing consignment sale.

I'm a Dork

After work last Thursday, I went to the salon to get my hair cut and colored.  Since I was already going to be out past Nate's bedtime, Lee said I should do something fun while I was out.  Yippee!  I'm in desperate need of jeans that actually fit my body so I went to Marshall's here in Burbank.  I tried on some jeans and a couple sweaters -- found a pair of dark jeans that fit nicely and only needed to be hemmed.  I paid for my new jeans and then went next door to Target to browse their purses.  Nothing caught my eye so I said goodbye to Target, got in my car, and headed home.  It was now almost 9pm and I hadn't eaten dinner, so when I spotted Burger King a couple blocks away I turned into the drive-thru.  As I was placing my order and scrounging around in my purse/wallet, I felt something on my shirt.  When I looked down I discovered that there was a giant rectangular sticker on the front of my shirt, right above my waist.  Thinking back to the night, I realized that while I was waiting in line at Marshall's a sticker from the jeans I was holding inadvertantly got stuck on my tummy.  So, yes, I wandered around Target and the parking lot of the Empire Centre looking like this:

The sticker says in big letters "stomach flattering front panels."  Lovely.

Sorry....

You're going to see me posting less and less over the next 2 months because I need to devote free computer time to a church project.  Check back after Halloween for a quick wrap up of Nate's 2nd Halloween.  His costume is super cute, I must say.

Yippee for Uncle Orick

Nate says "Yea for Uncle Eric on his new new job at a company that rhymes with Shoogle.  Now buy me some toys with your first paycheck...you know you want to.  Who can say 'no' to this face??"

My Thursday Morning Ritual

Every Thursday morning I scan the garage sale listings on Craigslist.org and the website of our local newspaper.  It takes only 5 minutes to determine if there are any worthy sales I should go to over the weekend (yes, I'm doing this at work -- sshhh!).

I just came across this listing on Craigslist a few minutes ago and had to share it with you all -- do you see what I see??

"927 EAST PALM AVE. 91501 / Clothes, furniture (hand craved coffee table, oak dresser, armoire, bedroom set), wide screen TV, Basketball game set, table games, dental items, and much much more!!! NO EARLY BIRDS PLEASE!!! "

Dental items.  At a garage sale.  Makes you wonder -- does Granny know they're selling her dentures?!

(Imaginary) Letters I Am Writing

Dear Macys,
Seriously, 38 bucks for a women's belt?  Is there a leather crisis I'm not aware of because that price seems rather extreme.  I think I'll be shopping for accessories at Target this fall.

Dear Jon and Kate,
I'm so over you guys.  Please go away.

Dear Santa,
Please do not give Nate any toys this Christmas that sing the same song over & over and don't have a volume control.  I may pull a "Van Gogh" if I have to listen to "The Farmer in the Dell" one more time on the See-And-Say.

Dear Cleaning Fairy,
I really hope you exist!  Could you please come take care of my bathroom??

Decorating on a Dime, er, Dollar

Photo from Good Housekeeping Magazine

I wish I had thought of this idea -- a bowl full of tiny pumpkins with ribbon around them.  I saw adorable baby pumpkins at the 99 Cents Store today -- what a cute and easy way to decorating for Halloween.

I've never heard Lee "purr" but maybe that's because I've never made him Tapioca before!?!
